Can I transfer a Child Trust Fund (CTF) into the AJ Bell Junior ISA?
You can transfer your child's CTF to an AJ Bell Junior ISA. To get started, you'll need to open a Junior ISA online. This only takes a few minutes. Then, you'll need to complete a CTF to Junior ISA transfer form, print it, and post it to us.
Only the registered contact of a CTF can transfer the account - the same person must also be the registered contact for the new Junior ISA. If the registered contact's details don't match, the CTF provider will reject the transfer, causing a delay. You can only pay money into the Junior ISA once you’ve requested to transfer the CTF.
To transfer a CTF, you'll need its unique reference number (URN). If you can’t find the URN, you may need to request it from your CTF provider. This isn’t the same as the account number.
After your child turns 18, you can no longer transfer their CTF to a Junior ISA. However, they can transfer it to a Stocks and shares ISA or Lifetime ISA instead.
Please note that you can only transfer a CTF to a Junior ISA in full as you can’t hold both types of account at the same time. Once you’ve transferred your CTF to a Junior ISA, your CTF will be closed. The transfer needs to be made as a part of your application process for a Junior ISA.
