Life in the AJ Bell Tech Team

At AJ Bell, we have some brilliant women working in our Tech Team. Every few weeks a different women in our technology department will be interviewed, highlighting their experiences working at AJ Bell.

Please introduce yourself…

I am Dhivya and I work as a Test Automation Engineer in the AJ Bell Web Team. I have a degree in computer science and engineering. I started my career in technology services and will continue to work to reach greater heights in my career.

How do you find the Technology Department in AJ Bell?

I have good support and guidance from the team. There is a flexible working environment with proper work / life balance. I have control to take decisions with automation and have clear goals in my role. There’s also good collaboration within the team.

Describe some tasks you do in your day-to-day job.

Tasks involve automating QA tickets / stories and making sure that pipelines build correctly on a daily basis. We have daily stand-up calls and team meetings. Furthermore, we test the bugs and identify and automate the pages which were not covered earlier under automation.

What advice would you give women thinking about a career in technology services?

Be confident, raise your hand, speak up and be positive.

What opportunities are you given to spread the word about WIT?

There is a supportive culture in the workplace and there are many opportunities to learn, grow and build upon skills. Additionally, there is a good work / life balance.

What's your biggest success?

Securing a gold medal in university results.
