Commercial Procurement Analyst

We are now recruiting for a Commercial Procurement Analyst to work alongside the existing members of the AJ Bell Commercial team.  The successful candidate will support the Head of Commercial Finance and other business areas, including the Group Finance department, in the management of supplier contracts, cost control and establishment / maintenance of commercial relationships with suppliers.

The successful candidate will be able to operate independently using own initiative, whilst working with colleagues at all levels across the business and with the Group’s external partners.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Information Assurance in relation to supplier contract documentation.
  • Assessment and analysis of existing and potential group suppliers.
  • Establishment and development of external commercial relationships.
  • Review and negotiation of existing, new and renewal contracts.
  • Assisting in control of the Group’s external cost base.
  • Liaising with Cost Centre managers in respect of contract management and cost control.
  • Reviewing of existing, new and renewal contracts to ensure value and cost effectiveness.
  • Maintenance of the group Contract Register (JIRA)
  • Undertaking initial and / or ongoing financial due diligence, reporting any financial risks as appropriate.
  • Ensure appropriate MI is collated to facilitate effective oversight third party financial risks

About you:

  • Experience of direct engagement with external partners /suppliers on commercial and contractual matters.
  • Experience in delivering Procurement value.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • IT literate.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to plan and prioritise work.
  • Understanding of and an interest in macro economics.
  • CIPS Qualified or studying toward qualification.
  • Able to demonstrate the ability to influence, challenge and negotiate with a wide range of knowledgeable stakeholders, including suppliers and colleagues up to board level
  • Have a good knowledge of contract law and managing risk.
